Loree Dowd Meeks, 85, of Metter and wife of Vinson Meeks, passed away late Friday, December 10, 2021, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.
Mrs. Meeks was born in Cobbtown and was a daughter of Leon and Ethel Collins Dowd. She graduated from Collins High School in 1954. She played piano for many churches. She was a homemaker and loved to cook, but most importantly she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of The Metter Church of God.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Vinson Meeks of Metter; her daughter, Vicky Street (Doug) of Midway; her son, Randy Meeks (Edna) of Savannah; grandchildren, Douglas Street, Chad Street, Melissa Browning, Randy Meeks, Jr., Michelle Lovett, Deanna Draper and Sherri Kerzan; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday December 14, 2021, from 1-2:30 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.
The funeral will be Tuesday December 14, 2021, at 3 o’clock at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel.
Interment will be at Lake Cemetery.
