Master Sergeant (MSG) Foy Preach “Sharky” Sikes, Jr.,94, United States Airforce, Retired, of Cobbtown and husband of the late Martha Yvonne Lanier Sikes, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons.
Sharky was born Cobbtown, Ga and was a member of the Cobbtown Baptist Church. He spent many years of his life traveling while in the Air Force, and after retirement he moved back to Cobbtown for the remainder of his life. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant having served our country for over twenty-three years. After retirement from the Air Force, Sharky went to work for the Georgia State Prison in Reidsville and worked there for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Foy Preach Sikes, Sr.; his mother, Estell Sikes; six brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are his daughter, Vicki Martin (Thomas) of Claxton; two sons, Ricki Sikes (Edna) of Jacksonville, Florida and Jeff Sikes of Reidsville; a brother, Rayford “Bully” Sikes (Brenda) of Hagan; a sister, Evelyn “Pretty” Maddox (John) of Carrolton; grandchildren, Serenity Osborne (Jamie), Joshua Martin, and Jamie Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
No service will be held at this time.
