Nellie Johnson Pruitt

Nellie Pruitt, 84, gained her heavenly wings August 10, 2020 at her residence in Sylvania, GA.  She was the daughter of Leon “Bud” Johnson and Annie Sutton Johnson. She worked at Twin City Manufacturing, Jockey in Millen and Swainsboro Primary Lunchroom for many years before retiring. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with grandchildren, and keeping a tidy house.  She was a member of Twin City Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two infant daughters; son, Timothy “Timbo” Pruitt; her husband of 42 years, Bishop “Lucky” Pruitt; brothers, R.H. “Tude” Johnson, Cleon “Pete” Johnson, Franklin “Man” Johnson; sister, Martha Jane Bryant.

Left here to enjoy the memories is her daughter Cathy (Wendell) Pruitt of Sylvania, sister, Annette Johnson Hall.  Her reason for smiling everyday were her grandchildren Jessica (Jarrod) Powell, Trent (Malorie) Lewis, Chasity (Jamie) Barnard, and Allison “Alli” Pruitt. Her great grandchildren are Gavin Reeves, Ravin Reeves, Charlie Lewis, Haven Barnard, Sarah Powell, Hudson Barnard and Pruitt Lewis, several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 o’clock in the morning, Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The funeral service will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

Officiating will be Elder Michael Newman and loving remarks by Cathy and others are invited to share any memories.

Interment will be at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Emanuel County.
