Patricia "Patty" R. Morris Obituary

Patricia “Patty” R. Morris, of Brooklet, entered into her eternal rest Thursday evening, April 28, 2022 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Ga after bravely battling leukemia.

Born in Bulloch County, Patty was the daughter of James Loyd and Willie Mae Roberts. Patty was a 1977 graduate of  Southeast Bulloch High School and she also obtained an Associate degree from Swainsboro Technical College. She was a lifelong member of Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Patty was a proud and dedicated employee of Southeast Bulloch High School for over 30 years, and the Brooklet community meant the world to her. Christmas Santa rides through Brooklet during the annual “Night on the Porch with Santa” were a highlight for her every year.

Patty especially loved music and dancing. She spent as much time as possible in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, a place that provided her with many happy memories and time well spent with dear friends and family. She loved watching fireflies at night, and spotting  the occasional black bear at Cades Cove.

In addition to her father and mother, Patty was preceded in death by her husband Gary H. Morris, who was her rock and her best friend. Also preceding her are brothers Bobby Roberts, Charles Waters, Jack Waters, Jerry Waters, Henry Waters, and Z.T. Waters.

Surviving are her son, Matt Morris, his wife Valerie Morris, and two most beloved granddaughters Kate and Lindsay Morris. Sisters Loretta Williams, Glenda Shackleford, and June Brazell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and more friends than one can count; many of whom she considered family and they held a special place in her heart.
