Peggy O'Neal Williams Obituary

Peggy O’Neal Williams, 78, passed away April 10, 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Peggy was born June 25, 1943 in Brunswick, Georgia to Frances and Dudley O’Neal.  She lived her early years in Macon, Georgia where she still has extended family.  She graduated from Mount DeSales Academy.

Peggy married Larry Williams, the love of her life, in 1963 and they had their only child, Lauri Williams Harnett, two years later.  They moved to Metter, Georgia in 1975. Peggy worked at Wallace Computer Services until she retired. Peggy and Larry Gene, as she affectionately called him, were devoted to one another and enjoyed every moment together, whether they were working on the farm, trucking,  traveling, or visiting their second home in Hiawassee, Georgia.  She passionately loved her family and adored all of her friends.  Peggy fought a long hard battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  This disease took her words but it did not take her spirit for life and her love for everyone around her.

She is preceded in death  by her husband, Larry Williams, and her parents Frances O’Neal Lowery and Lawrence Dudley O’Neal.

She is survived by her daughter, Lauri Williams Harnett, Owen and Sofia Harnett of Birmingham, Alabama.

Peggy will be honored at a Memorial Celebration at Upper Lott’s Creek Church June 25th at 10:00 AM.

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
