Obituary

Ruth L Ward, 85, of Cobbtown and widow of Fred Olen Ward, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Augusta University Hospital.

Mrs. Ward was born the daughter of Sing and Myrtle Roberson, in Cobbtown Ga. She has been part of the Cobbtown community for over 30 years. Mrs. Ward retired from Walmart where she worked for 25 years. She loved spending her time doing puzzles and sewing. When she was outside, she enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mrs. Ward loved her family and spending time with them. She especially enjoyed cooking a homemade breakfast for everyone to enjoy. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Belinda Ward; brothers, Waldon Roberson and Felix Roberson; and a sister, Ouida Lanier.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Ward; granddaughters, Amanda Collins and Crystal Rader; and her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Willis, Landen White, and Madison Martin.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 10 o’clock in the morning at Lake Cemetery in Metter, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Paul Collins, Ben Powell, Jeremy Sutton, James Crosby, Nig Powell, and Logan Powell. 

Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter is in charge of the arrangements.
